Rachel Rossin (@rachelrossin) is an internationally recognized artist working painting, installation, and programming to investigate the disparate realities of the physical and digital. Her current body of work mines CAD and virtual-reality spatial relationships, translating them into oil paintings and allowing the subject matter and medium to coalesce in a feedback loop. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Borusan Contemporary Museum of Art in Istanbul, The Zabludowicz Collection of London and is a part of The New Museum and Rhizome commission, “First Look.”
Her work is a part of forthcoming survey of digital art at Kiasma Museum in 2017 and was featured significantly in Google’s Tilt Brush advertising debut. She is the current Fellow in Virtual Reality at The New Museum’s tech incubator, NEW INC.
The New York Times said of Rossin’s most recent solo show: “Ms. Rossin has achieved something, forging a connection between abstract painting and augmented perception that opens up a fourth dimension that existed only in theory for earlier painters.”
